What is a ‘wet system’?

When it comes to heating systems for buildings there are several different systems. The most popular being what we call a ‘wet system.’ What does this mean? The system uses a fuel to heat water and then circulates the hot water through pipes to radiators and tank heaters for hot water to be used in bathrooms. The system can also be used with electric boilers.

Should I Choose a Combi Boiler?

The combi boiler has the advantage of providing you with instant hot water and heating without taking up a huge amount of room in contrast to a water tank. It is very energy efficient because it does not need to store the water. Although the bath may take a little longer to fill, it is more cost effective in the long run.

Storage Heaters – Are they Out of Date?

No! These are still a popular option for heating houses. Although in the past they have had the reputation of being big, ugly and not that effective, the modern made storage heaters are pretty impressive. The bricks used in the storage heaters have much more heat storage capacity and have slimmed down considerably.
